I have many influences when it comes to music. But i guess I have to choose only 5, so i will try to narrow it down. I will start from 5 being rated the least and 1 being the most.
Starting at #5 I have chosen Recording Artist Drake. Drake has a big influence on me when it comes to music because he is modern hip hop and R&B. Most Artist put themselves in a specific genre of music but Drake takes his talent to a different level of music. First he is an extraordinary rapper, when it comes to his wittyness with his words and punchlines. Also most rappers dont sing but Drake's style of music has unique melodies which makes him stand out from the normal rapper.
Next at #4 we have Marvin Gaye. One of the most inspirational song writers that ever lived. When Marvin Gaye wrote a song, people would listen. From his writing to his soulful voice he brought people together. Marvin payed the way for R&B and soul artists today.
Next at #3 we have Jay-Z. Jay-Z is one of the best rappers that ever lived. When it comes to lyrics that's what he specified in. Jay-Z's style of rap was universal to all genres of music. He was one of the first successful rappers to branch off and make music with different artist in different genres which brought more listeners, and which gained him more fans. One thing I liked about Jay-Z was that he took his music and business both seriously, and you can see it in his entrepreneurship.
Next at #2 we have Prince. Prince is one of the most electrifying... multitalented artist I have ever known. There are a very few amount of people that can play over 10 instruments... produce... write.... and sing all at the same time. Prince brought a new sound of music to the table when he came into the music industry. He took his inspirations and influences from all genres and created his own style of music. Many people can make good music, but many cannot express themselves professionally through a live performance. Prince loved to perform and was excellent at it, and that's what I meant earlier when I said electrifying.
Last but not least at #1 we have the one and only Michael Jackson. Michael Jackson touched people all over the world. Michael had a distinctive voice and sound. Michael loved to entertain, and since he was brought into this business at a very young age it became a passion to him. His work ethics were beyond extraordinary measures, that's why he was a perfectionist. When he spoke you believed him. It did'nt matter who you were or where you were from, you loved Michael.
